12/13 – Multiculturalism in the Classroom

Discover hands-on activities that lead to appreciating the differences in the families served by the early childhood facility in this exciting course that provides teachers with tools and strategies to promote multiculturalism in the classroom while fostering respect and celebrating diversity.

Upon completing this class, participants will:

• Explain the interconnection of family characteristics that affect a child’s development.
• Describe characteristics of an unbiased curriculum that promotes recognition and appreciation of racial, ethnic, and ability differences and similarities.
• Understand culturally, socially, and linguistically diverse curricula reflective of the
  enrollment and community.
• Identify a variety of activities that enable children to develop their large (gross motor) and small (fine motor) muscles.
