This course will be completed in our online classroom on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT. You will receive the link to access the course before the start of class.
Early childhood providers will be equipped with essential knowledge about infectious disease
control and illness detection. Developing preventive strategies, early detection techniques, and
the implementation of health protocols enables providers to create safer learning
environments and effectively respond to public health challenges.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational experience, the learners will:
- Name opportunities to protect oneself from infectious disease/illness
- Recognize when to exclude a sick child and notify a parent of a child's illness I Identify
common childhood diseases that can be seen in a childcare center - Describe universal precautions
- Demonstrate proper hand washing techniques Recognize good hygiene practices
utilized in a licensed program
